Amon Amarth
Amon Amarth est un groupe de Death metal de Suède. Le nom du groupe signifie Montagne du Destin en sindarin, langue inventée par J. R. R. Tolkien. Les chansons du groupe parlent principalement des vikings et de mythologie.

Formé en 1988 sous le nom de Scum, le groupe prit son nom actuel en 1992, avec le lancement de plusieurs démos, dont le notable The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter. Ce n'est toutefois qu'en 1998 que les 4 vikings (5 plus tard) sortiront leur premier vrai disque Once Sent From The Golden Hall. Plusieurs albums qui connurent de plus en plus de succès sortirent coup sur coup en 1999, 2001, 2002 et 2004. Leur dernier album date de septembre 2006, With Oden On Our Side, qui contient notamment la chanson "Runes To My Memory".

Johan Hegg (born April 29, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a vocalist of the Melodic death metal band Amon Amarth. He joined the band in 1991. He states his main influences as James Hetfield, Tom Araya, Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy.

Fredrik Andersson joined viking-themed melodic death metal band Amon Amarth in 1998 after Martin Lopez left. He started playing the drums when he was 11. When he first joined, he had only two months to learn all the tracks from the previous albums and the songs for the album The Avenger. He never played in Marduk, that was another Fredrik Andersson.
